Detroit to Ann Arbor Express Bus Service (D2A2) Set to Return October 18th.
Detroit, Michigan – The Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA) has announced their Detroit to Ann Arbor Express Bus Service (D2A2), in partnership with the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide), will return on October 18, 2021. The service will provide hourly trips between the two communities for a little over 16 hours a day Monday to Friday (5:45 a.m.-11:00 p.m.), and limited service on Saturday and Sunday. The service was halted in March 2020 due to COVID19.
The ticket pricing for the service will see no change with one-way fares standing at an $8 base fare and a $6 advanced booking discount available at D2A2.com. There will also still be a $4 eligible senior/disability fare available. The best offer for commuters is the book of 10, priced at $5 each ($50 total).
Ben Stupka, RTA Interim General Manager stated, “Now that our workforce is returning to in person and entertainment venues are welcoming fans back, we are extremely excited to announce the restart of the service. Our board, staff, and transit partners worked hard to make this return possible. It’s time for the return of D2A2.” Stupka continued.
RTA Chairman Paul Hillegonds conveyed his passion for the need and excitement of the service’s restart. “I’m so glad to be able to provide this for riders again.” stated Hillegonds.
The service will continue to be operated by the Michigan Flyer, a company known for its friendly drivers, comfortable buses, and dependability. “The Michigan Flyer has achieved an extraordinary track record of 98% on-time reliability, and the D2A2 express bus service is set to follow these same great metrics,” stated Chad Cushman, President of Michigan Flyer
