ABOUT US

MISSION

At Latino Press Foundation, our mission is to remove the barriers that limit opportunity for the diverse communities of Metro Detroit. We empower individuals and families—particularly within the immigrant community—to successfully integrate, thrive, and build a better future through access to information, education, and essential resources that foster confidence, communication, and long-term prosperity.

VISION

We envision a thriving, inclusive community where individuals and families are informed, educated, and economically stable. A community where people—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or country of origin—have equitable access to opportunities and the ability to reach their full potential with dignity and hope.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Latino Press Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a longstanding commitment to serving the Hispanic and immigrant communities across Metro Detroit. Over the years, we have directly impacted more than 15,000 families, students, and new mothers—primarily low- to moderate-income residents throughout Wayne and Oakland counties.

Our programs focus on strengthening families and individuals through three core pillars: Family Stability, Emotional Well-being, and Economic Opportunity. Through culturally relevant outreach and trusted community engagement, we have become a reliable bridge between essential services and the populations that need them most.

OUR GOALS IN THE COMING YEARS

Looking ahead, Latino Press Foundation is committed to expanding its impact by developing and scaling programs that address the most pressing needs of our community. Our strategic priorities include:

  • Financial Empowerment: Providing financial literacy education, one-on-one counseling, and tools to help families build credit, manage debt, and achieve long-term financial stability.
  • Housing Stability & Homeownership: Offering workshops and counseling on renting, home buying, foreclosure prevention, and access to down payment assistance programs.
  • Workforce & Economic Development: Supporting individuals and entrepreneurs through small business guidance, tax preparation services, and workshops designed to strengthen economic mobility.
  • Access to Essential Services: Facilitating utility assistance and connecting families with critical support programs that reduce financial hardship.
  • Legal Access & Advocacy: Coordinating access to trusted legal resources, including immigration, family, criminal, real estate, and tax law, through partnerships with qualified attorneys.
  • Community Education & Outreach: Expanding culturally and linguistically relevant information campaigns to ensure families are informed about their rights, opportunities, and available resources.

Through these initiatives, we aim not only to provide services, but to create sustainable pathways for individuals and families to achieve independence, stability, and long-term success.
