DETROIT – The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is excited to announce an open call for entries for the 5th Annual Wayne County High School Art Exhibition.

Current Wayne County high school students are invited to submit their most creative, meaningful, and impactful artwork for consideration for the exhibition, which will be showcased at the Detroit Institute of Arts from June 18 through July 19.

Submissions are open through March 22 at https://dia.org/wchsae5.

“Each year, we celebrate the extraordinary creativity of Wayne County’s young artists,” said Detroit Institute of Arts Director Salvador Salort-Pons. “We are proud to provide a platform where students can share their unique perspectives and artistic voices with museum visitors.”

The 5th Annual Wayne County High School Art Exhibition showcases the work of students in grades 9-12 throughout Wayne County. In previous years, the exhibition featured imaginative pieces by emerging artists in numerous categories, including photography, painting, textiles, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and more.

An extension of the DIA exhibition will take place at the Guardian Building later in the summer, giving participating artists an additional opportunity to share their work.

“This exhibition represents more than just artwork on display. It’s a celebration of the incredible potential within our young people,” said Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans. “Each submission tells a story, and I’m always amazed by the talent and passion that our high school artists bring to this exhibition. Your creativity matters, and this is your moment to shine.”
