ERO removes Guatemalan national wanted for financial crimes in home country.
SEATTLE – Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle Field Office removed Manuel Antonio Baldizon, 52, a citizen of Guatemala, who was convicted in the U.S. of conspiracy to commit money laundering and is wanted by law enforcement authorities in his home country for criminal conspiracy, passive bribery, and laundering of money or other assets.
Baldizon served 28 months in federal prison before being transferred to ICE custody. An immigration judge from the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) ordered his removal, Aug. 16.
Baldizon was removed from the United States Oct. 5 with custody transferred to authorities in Guatemala upon arrival.
