A Day Without Immigrants: A Community Stands Together
Last Monday, February 3, 2025, the Day Without Immigrants was observed, with many businesses choosing to close in solidarity. However, some establishments remained open, disregarding the significance of this movement and the challenges our community is facing.
In Southwest Detroit, a march was organized to protest the latest policies of the Trump administration, particularly the indiscriminate ICE raids targeting Hispanic families and individuals. While we had hoped for an even larger turnout, we recognize that fear has played its role. Yet, the presence of young people—the future of this nation—demonstrated their commitment to defending our rights.
Here, we share some of the most powerful images from the march, where the messages speak for themselves. We hope you find them impactful, and we look forward to continued demonstrations until our rights are fully recognized.
